New Gallery - New York

The past six months I have been in conversation with a gallery in New York, sharing about my work, myself and making new work for them and getting ahead of myself with even newer ideas… so I am honored to finally announce my representation with Todd Merrill Studio in New York.

This beautiful opportunity has taught me so much and we are only at the beginning; I got into a state of rushing, wanting to make the new ideas, and honestly the critical voice inside really stepped up and said you will never be good enough, the work will never be good enough. Brutal, but real; so I took the past two weeks, after shipping the work to New York, to rest more, to stop striving, worrying and recenter.

I took time to deeply consider that critical voice because it was negatively impacting how I was showing up, it was driving me to prove it wrong by my actions in the outer world, for example, by remaking the work cause the other totem wasn’t perfect, ahem. The issue with this is that the belief was a state of being I was inhabiting and no amount of outer work was going to shift it. The path forward was to go inside myself and be gentle, and heal the place that voice began thus redefining and releasing that story.

So while I am tender in this understanding that the work is incredible, that I too am incredible; It’s been a valuable reminder that those hidden beliefs can really drive our outer world experiences. That it’s always worth investigating because on the other side is a path forward that feels sustainable, grounded and self-honoring.
